The Opportunity:
In South America, tours are delivered by independent freelance Group Leaders, who are passionate about their countries, have excellent people stills and solve problems quickly. If you share our passion for group adventure tours focused on sustainable, local, and immersive travel experiences to people all over the world… this might be the right challenge for you.
A day in the life would have you:
Day to day leading in an organized and professional manner across a range of trips
Sharing with travelers the local knowledge acquired of the destination; and continuing to build your knowledge through continual research and interaction with suppliers and communities visited.
Provide and update leader information, trip, and supplier notes, and other general administrative duties
Keep up to date with recent costings and provide information of the trip
Staying informed on current Intrepid policy and guidelines and brand requirements around responsible tourism
Ensure the safety and well-being of travelers by leading trips in accordance with Intrepid’s safety policy, and taking preventative measures to ensure the safety of group members
Promote responsible travel and sustainability practices by acting as a role model for other leaders and travelers and by demonstrating respect for local people, cultures, customs, and environment
Facilitating interaction between local communities and travelers
Report any safety incidents to the relevant contact of Intrepid Travel
A Bit About You
Senior First Aid Certificate and CPR training and certification, in force.
Health and accidents Insurance, in force during trips.
Experience traveling throughout Ecuador.
Basic computer skills including email, word, and excel
Travel industry certification as guide or travel escort license preferred
High-level verbal and written English and Spanish language skills.
You will have strong customer service and experience developing a rapport with a broad range of individuals and groups. But more importantly you will share in PEAK’s core values of integrity, innovation, fun, passion, growth and responsibility
