The Cook is responsible for providing restaurant-style dining in a healthcare setting, supporting our commitment to use whole, fresh, local, and sustainable products wherever economically possible. The incumbent provides outstanding customer service, orders supplies, prepares food items, ensures proper food safety and sanitation standards are met and maintains cooler and freeze stock. Incumbents work in a fast paced, team oriented, high volume, and customer service focused environment.

Minimum Requirements:
Two (2) years cooking experience in casual to fine dining, hotels, catering, banquet, cafeteria, or healthcare line cook.
Any combination of education and experience which demonstrates required knowledge and abilities that meets the acceptable minimal cooking standards and competencies per discretion of the hiring manager as outlined below:
Internal Nutrition Services employees who have a current Nutrition Services position and have been provided with on-the-job training as a Cook for job advancement purposes within Nutrition Services. This requires a competency training document sign off by a Manager or Director which lists all skills needed for the job and proves the candidate has demonstrated all required tasks on more than one occasion, as well as independent completion of at least 2 successful shifts in a Cook position.

Education/Licenses/Certifications:
High School graduate or GED
Culinary Arts Degree can be accepted in lieu of 2 yearsÂ’ experience
Current State of Washington Food Handler’s card
Serve-Safe Certified preferred

Compensation Range:
X – Min: $15.74-Max: $94.60
