Job Introduction

The Colonnades at The Signet Library are currently looking to add a Commis Chef to our team. We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and motivated individual. You will join our small yet strong team who provides friendly yet professional service in a beautiful Georgian setting. Located in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town on the Royal Mile, Colonnades at the Signet Library is the perfect place for ‘Edinburgh’s finest afternoon tea’

Uniform for the staff will be provided by the site.

A meal is provided on site.

Shift lengths are usually during the day.

40-45 hours per week and weekend working will be required.

Salary: £12.00 per hour + weekly share of gratuities

This will be a casual role.

Role Responsibility

Assisting the kitchen team with the daily preparation and mis-en-place for service
Helping both savoury and sweet sections with preparation of food
Assisting the kitchen team with unloading and putting away deliveries, emptying bins, and ensuring all equipment is clean and put away correctly.

Experience in a busy kitchen environment
Good communication skills
Experience of working in a team
Hard working and reliable
