JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for an energetic and experienced barista to prepare and serve delicious coffee, snacks and light meals to our guests at the Jackson Café by Norca located in the Ottawa Art Gallery. Energetic and passionate about customer service, the ideal candidate has a knack for problem solving!

YOUR ROLE:

Offer a warm welcome to our guests
Prepare or serve hot or cold beverages, such as coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, or teas.
Describe menu items to customers or suggest products that might appeal to them.
Prepare or serve menu items.
Clean or sanitize work areas, utensils, or equipment.
Clean service or seating areas.
Check temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, or heating equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Describe menu items to customers or suggest products that might appeal to them.
Order, receive, or stock supplies or retail products.
Other relevant tasks as required
YOUR PROFILE

Bilingual French and English
Professional, enthusiastic, energetic
Have experience calibrating coffee machines
Strong attention to detail
Ability to provide full table service if necessary
Previous café experience
Knowledgeable in tea & coffee
Able to work and communicate well within the team
Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule (mornings, evenings, weekends)
Able to work under pressure
Able to work in a standing position for up to 5 hours
