JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Meeting and Banquet Manager, the Conference Porter’s responsibility is to provide professional, knowledgeable, genuinely friendly, food and beverage service in a timely manner and deliver the ultimate guest experience. Such position requires great skills in work organization, proven ability to solve problems and excellent communication skills.

YOUR ROLE

Prepare and serve all food and beverages for meeting and banquets
Ensure all equipment and rooms are set-up and prepared to hotel standards
Perform related maintenance/cleaning of equipment
Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of service areas
Anticipate guest’s needs, respond promptly and acknowledge guests even when busy
Become fully conversant with all aspects of the conference & banquet department. This is to include; conference standards, function sheet translation, room set ups, conference service, banqueting service and conference & banqueting preparation;
Ensure all equipment is stored in the correct manner, in line with all food and beverage/conference and banqueting requirements and health & safety legislation.
Adhere to all liquor laws and regulations
YOUR PROFILE

Previous server experience
Good communication skills
Professional, enthusiastic, energetic, a people person
Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule (morning, afternoons, evenings, weekends)
Able to lift up to 50lb, reach, bend, push and stoop
Able to work in a standing position for up to 5 hours
Able to work under pressure
 

 

YOUR FUTURE WORK TEAM

Reporting to the Meetings and Banquet Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the smooth running of the banquet department, including the service of meals for meetings and events in the hotel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Participate in the assembly and dismantling of meeting rooms / banquets / lunch area
Ensure the service of meals (service, clear tables, etc.) and assist guests with their luggage as needed
Perform the functions of the coffee break service, perform various workplace maintenance and supply tasks
Deliver packages or notes intended for a customer to his room or room
See to the reception of the goods, store them in the appropriate places and make an inventory if necessary
Perform any other tasks necessary for the proper functioning of the hotel
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Experience in catering is an asset
Good verbal communication
Good physical fitness
