Are you ready to take the next big step in your hospitality career? Four Seasons Hotel Toronto is looking for a Food & Beverage Manager in Training (MIT) who shares our passion for excellence and is enthusiastic about creating the ultimate service experience. Our F&B MIT will be a member of a dynamic team dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service to our guests. This position reports to the Food and Beverage Department Manager, of placement, with early July. Canadian work authorization is required for this position.

The Food & Beverage MIT will have the ability to be visible in the operation, provide recognition, promote good public relations, and handle complaints, concerns or special requests for employees, guests, clients, and group contacts. They will train, evaluate, lead, motivate, and coach employees in the Hotel’s Food and Beverage departments to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met; daily activities and planning for outlet operation. They will be able to describe and ensure quality of all food items, ingredients, and preparation methods, as well as provide knowledge of wine and spirits in an elegantly appointed environment dedicated to an attentive and distinctive experience.

The MIT will assist with controlling labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory and cash control. They will attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments. It is important that they observe physical condition of facilities and equipment in the outlets and make recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed. They will need to comply with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in the Employee Handbook. The MIT will work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors. Lastly, they will assist in completing special projects; maintain and order office supplies.

Preferred Qualifications And Skills

College degree specializing in hotel/restaurant management is required for this position.
Minimum one-year previous experience in an F&B operation; hotel experience preferred but not required.
Requires knowledge of basics in food & beverage service.
Requires ability to comfortably operate computer equipment, Microsoft programs (excel primarily), and other food & beverage computer systems (Micros, hotSOS, Opera)
Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language. Ability to communicate in a second language a plus.
