ACCOUNTANT
Angama is recruiting for a passionate Accountant to join and bolster the Nairobi based Finance team.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the ideal candidate must be:
− Proudly Kenyan and self-motivated.

− Computer literate and readily adaptable to new systems.
− Has strong administrative skills (including Microsoft Excel)
− Has a can-do attitude and willingness to go the extra mile.
Day-to-day responsibilities would include:
− Processing and reconciling Banks & Credit Cards
− Recording supplier invoices into Sage Accounting software and ensuring that the records are always up to date.
− Maintaining general ledger accounts
− Preparation of journal entries
− Ensuring proper documentation for all transactions
− Producing daily, weekly and and monthly reports as assigned
− Providing general administrative assistance as required from time to time
− Involvement in the annual audits and providing all the required documents
− Help with our month end processes: prepayments, accruals, bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations
− Process all intercompany transactions
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, applicants should meet the following criteria:
− Bachelor degree in accounting or equivalent
− Qualifications in accounting i.e., CPA or ACCA an added advantage
− Practical experience in the use of computer accounting packages including Excel, Word and Sage or any other accounting system is essential.
− Working experience of at least (5) years in a similar position. Experience in accounting with knowledge of sage software and/or other accounting software will be added advantage.
− Key skills and qualities: Strong analytical skills, Ability to work under minimum supervision, Keen & fast learner, good communicator, confident, presentable and a good team player. Knowledge in written and spoken English and Kiswahili. Integrity is a key factor for this position.
Remuneration will be market-related and dependent on experience.
