History

Launched in 1936 by Cunard Line, The Queen Mary was one of the grandest ocean liners of its time, sailing transatlantic routes between Southampton and New York. During World War II, she served as a troopship nicknamed the “Grey Ghost.” Retired in 1967, she was permanently moored in Long Beach and transformed into a hotel and tourist attraction.
