Holding the prestigious address of One Queen Street, and amid sprawling laneway shopping and high end dining precincts will be the landmark 139 room InterContinental Auckland hotel. With spectacular waterfront views of Waitematā Bay and frontage on Quay Street, this halo property will be the crown jewel amongst Auckland’s luxury accommodation offerings – and is looking to open throughout Q4 2023.

Are you ready to spread the word about our exceptional guest experiences and bring to life the luxury InterContinental brand to the heart of Auckland? We are searching for a Business Development Manager to join our pre-opening team and setting this beautiful hotel up ready to receive its first guests.

A little taste of your day to day
Generate revenue by leading and managing sales activities in line with the hotel’s overall business objectives
Monitor competitor’s activities through client feedback and gather information relating to changing market conditions
Conduct market analysis to identify trends and opportunities and provide regular feedback to the hotel management team on market conditions, competitor activities, and customer needs
Manage the assigned account base to exceed targets with the implementation of effective sales plans and activities
Prepare and present regular sales reports to the hotel management team, highlighting key performance metrics and areas for improvements
Actively pursue opportunities to enlarge the sale base and create and ongoing pipeline

What We Need From You
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Marketing, Business or Hospitality Management
Formal sales management training with in-depth knowledge of sales principles and techniques
Minimum of four years’ experience in hotel sales, business development or related fields
Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
Proven track record of achieving sales targets
Knowledge of local market trends and competitors is advantageous
Full current working rights in New Zealand
